Telefilm Canada brought in Fenton to open their strategic planning session with a keynote that would challenge conventional thinking and set a bold, future-focused tone. The aim was to encourage creative risk-taking, sharpen innovation thinking, and prepare teams to think differently as they entered a critical planning cycle.

Engagement:

Fenton delivered his Radical Curiosity keynote, tailored for the cultural and creative context in which Telefilm operates. He explored how curiosity fuels innovation, especially in sectors navigating fast-moving shifts in technology, audience expectations, and content creation. Through frameworks, storytelling, and interactive reflection, Fenton helped participants stretch their thinking beyond what’s predictable or safe.

Outcomes:

The session primed attendees to approach the strategy day with a more open, ambitious mindset. It helped frame curiosity not as a personality trait, but as a leadership tool to unlock new opportunities in content, partnerships, and policy. Participants cited the session as energizing, grounding, and crucial to reimagining Telefilm’s future in a rapidly evolving creative landscape. This first engagement also resulted in a multi-year partnership with Fenton as an advisor in multiple capacities.
