Jennifer West, Event Manager @ Home Trust

Objective:

Home Trust invited Fenton Jagdeo to help reframe Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through a modern, actionable lens to their 900+ Canadian staff members. As the company entered a new chapter with Fairstone, the goal was to retain its values-driven culture and empower leaders to engage meaningfully with inclusion, not just perform it.

Engagement:

Fenton delivered his keynote on Practical Allyship, challenging the traditional EDI narrative and offering a new framework rooted in three principles: Access over Apologies, Competence over Compliance, and Growth over Guilt. The session was tailored to Home Trust’s unique position in the financial industry—serving those often overlooked by traditional institutions.

Outcomes:

The session sparked honest conversations and gave leaders language and tools to move past EDI fatigue. Practical Allyship offered a fresh, business-aligned approach that resonated with Home Trust’s mission to find value where others don’t. As integration with Fairstone continues, the message reinforced the importance of keeping Home Trust’s inclusive DNA at the center of its future.
