Patricia Pannozzo, Accreditation & Events Manager @ Appraisal Institute of Canada (ON)
Objective:
The Appraisal Institute of Canada – Ontario Chapter invited Fenton to deliver a keynote to 400+ members that would inspire and challenge them to reimagine the future of the appraisal profession. In the face of market disruption, AI pressure, and changing public expectations, the goal was to help appraisers see themselves not just as evaluators of value, but as innovators of it.
Engagement:
Fenton delivered a 45-minute keynote rooted in his Radical Curiosity framework. The talk contextualized the macro forces reshaping real estate, including rising automation, shifting definitions of property value, and a growing need for diversification. He reframed these not as threats, but as signals. By walking through a series of future scenarios, innovation tools, and provocative what-if questions, Fenton offered a roadmap for how appraisers could evolve their mandate, leverage technology, and lead transformation in their field.
Outcomes:
The keynote sparked reflection and optimism among a group navigating complex transitions. Members left with a clear message: curiosity is not a soft skill, it is a strategic one. Fenton’s tools gave appraisers permission to think bigger, diversify their services, and see themselves as vital agents in Canada's economic and housing future. The session was widely seen as a motivational reset that offered both clarity and conviction at a pivotal moment for the profession.
